We
are very close to Wye, Ashford, Canterbury, Fokestone, Dover. London is easily
accessible by train from Wye (4 miles) Ashford (9 miles). We are ideally situated
for those that are making a day trip to France or a stop off point before your
holiday in Europe.
There
are many scenic walks and cycling is enjoyed by a number of guests (although it
is not for the faint hearted as we are 500ft above sea level).
We also have many golf courses in the area see links page for more details. The nearest riding stables are 1.5 miles and Bursted Manor Riding Stables are approx 6 miles.
We have English Heritage and National Trust books which we are very happy to loan to our guests
Wye has a farmers market on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month in the mornings on the green in Wye
We have some stunning walking and cycling routes in the area, Wye National Nature Reserve is managed by Natural England and supports many rare species of orchid. The Crab and Winkle Way links the cathedral city of Canterbury with the harbour in Whitstable. From Harbledown the route is mostly traffic-free, following the railway line from the Winding Pond (a great place to picnic) to the outskirts of Whitstable.
Our nearest beach is Hythe and for sand lovers Sandwich is a short trip away.
